After you've enrolled your member number in Safe2Connect, you can register and unregister any computer in two ways.
1) Register or unregister your computer by clicking one of the buttons at the bottom of your password screen when you sign-on.
2) Or within your L@ngley Link session, simply unregister your computer using the new "
Safe2Connect Settings" tool.
WHAT DOES 'REGISTRATION' MEAN: In the past, on-line security was based on two pieces of information — your member number and your password. With the enhanced security of Safe2Connect, it's now based on three pieces of information. The new third piece is your computer.
When you register a computer, Safe2Connect generates a unique code that is stored on your computer in a "cookie". A cookie is simply a small piece of data. A cookie is not a program. It cannot "run" or be executed. It cannot "snoop" on you. It's essentially a number, and only Safe2Connect can read it. Only Safe2Connect can know what it means. With this cookie in place, Safe2Connect can then match up three pieces of information about anyone trying to access your accounts on-line — it matches your member number, password, and the computer being used. In this way, Safe2Connect enhances your security.
