2025 Nominations for Board of Directors
The Nominating Committee has nominated three members to fill three vacancies on the Board of Directors. The credit union will not conduct the election by ballot and there will be no nominations from the floor when the number of nominees equals the number of open positions. Additional nominations may be made by petition as follows:
- All members eligible to vote may make nominations for vacancies by petition signed by 1% of the membership with a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 500. (Membership as of 1/31/25 is 392,934).
- Nominations must be accompanied by a brief statement of qualifications, biographical data, and a signed statement from the nominee that they are agreeable and will serve if elected.
- To be considered, the nominee’s petition must be received by the Board of Directors Secretary, at 721 Lakefront Commons, Newport News, VA 23606 by close of business on March 13, 2025.
Nominees For the Board of Directors
- Bruce R. Hoogstraten
- RC Miller
- R. Lester Wingrove, Jr.
Bruce served as Board Chairman from 2018-2021, a Board Member since 2009, and a member since 1982. He currently serves on the CEO Evaluation and Compensation Committee. Bruce is the President of Highstreet Coaching, LLC headquartered in Hampton, Virginia.
RC became a Director on the Board in September 2024. He previously served as Langley's first Associate Director after joining as a Volunteer Candidate for Langley in October 2023. RC is a Sr. Product Counsel at Zoom, working on cutting edge technologies and advising on numerous areas of legal risk. He has previously worked at eBay and various large law firms across the country. In 2021, he joined the faculty of USC Gould School of Law, teaching a course on contract drafting and negotiations.
Lester served as Board Chairman from 2015-2018 and has been a Board Member since 2009. He currently serves as a 401(k) Plan Trustee and member of the CEO Evaluation and Compensation and Policy and Governance Committees. Lester earned his Certified Credit Union Director designation in June 2016. He brings over 30 years of experience in the criminal justice field. He currently serves as Evidence Based Practice Specialist, Strategic Planner and Coach for the Commonwealth of Virginia.
