NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – (July 26, 2024) – The Langley for Families Foundation will be celebrating its 10th anniversary by hosting a family-friendly event at the Virginia Zoo in Norfolk: Zoopalooza. The inaugural event will be held on Saturday, September 7 from 11:00am-3:00pm and include access to yard games, bounce houses, a dunk tank, animal encounters, a magic show, and other family-friendly activities.
“Zoopalooza promises to be a fantastic day of fun, games, and learning with your children that also supports local families in need!” said Jerome Fowlkes, Langley’s CHRO and Langley for Families Foundation Board Member. “We are proud to have been able to support so many deserving causes and agencies who are working diligently to address our communities’ greatest needs through the Langley for Families Foundation. We appreciate all who have contributed to help advance our mission and we look forward to increasing our impact through the inaugural event.”
The Langley for Families Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity launched to support nonprofit organizations across the communities served by Langley Federal Credit Union. Since its start in 2014, the foundation has donated over $6.2 million to Hampton Roads nonprofits serving households in need of access to education, healthcare, and housing & human services.
Fowlkes added, “The Langley for Families Foundation has been successful thanks to the generosity of Langley’s employees, members, and business partners but Zoopalooza serves as a reminder that anyone is welcome to be a part of the foundation’s mission.”
Zoopalooza tickets are on sale now via the Langley for Families Foundation and are open to the public for purchase. Tickets include general admission to the Virginia Zoo’s exhibits as well as access to the zoo’s private event area where a variety of family-friendly entertainment and activities will be held.
